kän strekt | August 4th - October 1st | Reception September 15th
The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) in Mountain View presents kän strekt, an exhibition of mixed media artwork by local artist Heidi Lubin. The exhibition will be on display in CSMA’s Mohr Gallery from August 4 through October 1, 2017. kän strekt is comprised of sculptures, drawings, and photography that blur the lines between fantasy and reality, desire and access, and power and powerlessness. Corporate strategies and byproducts, language and lines in housing and Craigslist apartment listings, and the Google color branding of Mountain View are reinterpreted to form a new visual language of personal experience.
Opening Reception: Friday, September 15, 6-8pm
Featuring an interactive art activity related to the work on display, as well as a cappella songs throughout the evening.
Gallery Hours: Mon-Fri: 8am-10pm; Sat: 8am-9pm; Sun: 10:15am-6:30pm
All exhibitions are FREE and open to the public.

THIRD STRIKE: 100 PERFORMANCES FOR THE HOLE
I had the honor to be a part of James Coquia's mini performance on obsession at this awesome annual event at SOMArts.
Third Strike: 100 Performances for The Hole is a mini-marathon of time-based performance. Each performance lasts just two minutes and takes place in, around, in contradiction of, or is inspired by “The Hole,” a 100-year-old former sand casting pit in the floor of the SOMArts Main Gallery.
